Building Green In New York - CP Mill Works

 In 2000 CP Mill Works was started as a Green New York business venture by two brothers (Chuck and Paul (me)).. After Chuck got married a few years later I inherited the entire business. We have grown over the last several years to include more of the construction processes. We started with the intent to just dabble in the custom sawmilling business.

We have grown rapidly since then to include all types of finished lumber for the residential building process. We manufacture all types of paint and stain grade trims and moldings, hardwood floorings, custom cabinetry, bath cabinetry and wood sidings. If it is made of wood we probably make it or can make it for you.

With the crazy ride the energy markets have taken all of us on in the last few years, I became very interested in better ways of building. So in 2005 while helping a friend construct a new timberframe home I became aware of a product called Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). After constructing this home with my friend I soon realized the GREEN benefits of this product. He now heats his 1600 sq ft home for approx. $200 per YEAR!

Within 6 months I became a dealer for a Canadian SIP company and now I also build for USA based SIP company as well. I have built 4 complete homes with this product and have done renovations with it as well. All of our homes have realized heating savings of up to 90% over their traditionally built comparisons. Now that is GREEN building that $aves you REAL GREEN!
